To paraphrase Richard Anderson in “Cleanse and Purify Thyself”, when a doctor says to a patient that there is no hope, they are relaying the message that if they follow the prescribed treatment, they will die.
Medicine should not be based on the ideas that one is helpless to alter the course of their own health and that a person who has undergone years of training and education are the only ones that can help me.
The history of healing can be traced back before the dominance of our modern allopathic school of medicine and surgery, just over half a century ago. Before the advent of modern medicine were various different methods of healing.
There are numerous methods of healing that are based on the concept that the individual is responsible for his or her condition and can make changes for the better. Perhaps this is the basis of the old Chinese saying “When you are sick of sickness, you are no longer sick.” Below is a list of some of these various schools of healing.
1. Naturopathy (Natural cures for disease)
Naturopathy uses sunshine, right thought, exercise, nutrition, herbs, massage and water (baths, enemas, colonics and cleanses like the Lemonade Diet) to cure or manage disease.
2. Traditional Eastern Medicine
These methods of healing are based on the idea that the energy that governs the health and function of the body flows in certain defined paths that which can be monitored and manipulated (acupuncture) or through the use of herbs (Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine -- Ancient East Indian medicine).
3. Spiritual Healing
Religious teachings such as Christian Science and Scientology, manifest that the Spirit that made the body can heal the body. Although Scientology encourages medical treatment for illnesses or accidents where there is a known and certain cure, it also teaches practical ways of relieving the stress that is the underlying cause of all disease and illness.
4. Chiropractic
“Chiropractic" literally means, “done by hand.” The spine is manipulated to restore the ability of the mysterious, divine life force within all men (the "Innate") to flow unobstructed from the brain through the nerves to all the organs of the body. David Palmer, founded and taught the practice after he restored the hearing of an employee who had been deaf for 17 years, by adjusting his neck.
5. Homeopathy (curing disease with substances that create similar symptoms)
Founded by Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), homeopathy came into being after it was discovered that certain elements would mimic symptoms of a particular disease. Hahnemann realized that quinine given to a healthy person caused malarial symptoms and thus proved to him the principle that "like treats like" in the same way as the old Greeks treated diarrhea with herbs that caused the body to have several urgent eliminations.
The main principle behind homeopathy is the belief that the body is capable of healing and treating itself, therefore taking homeopathic medicines to reproduce the symptoms of the ailment, the body is triggered into an action of healing itself. The difference between modern medicine and homeopathy is that in modern medicine a symptom is considered a manifestation of disease and to be suppressed, whereas in homeopathy, symptoms are a way for the body to heal itself.
Doing a thorough internal cleanse first would be an excellent way to begin any health regimen. One of the more effective ones is the Lemonade Diet, which assists the body in cleansing the liver, kidneys and colon, and gives you a renewed sense of overall well-being.
